The Best Restaurants in La Manga

When it comes to restaurants, in the few square miles around La Manga Club, you will be spoilt for choice to say the least. Not only are there super restaurants on site, theres also the huge array of choice only a stones throw from base. Fitting our recommendations on to one web page isnt easy, but heres our list of top eateries for your tennis holiday at La Manga. To make it easy, we have split it into "Plush and (just a bit) posh"; "Quick and tasty" and "Something a bit different". That way, we hope theres something for everyone.

Plush and (just a bit) posh

While jacket and tie are rarely the order of the day at La Manga there are some great opportunities to push the boat out and dress up for a romantic evening out. Here are some of our favourites:

Miramar

Conveniently located in the centre of Cabo de Palos, this restaurant is only a short drive from the heart of the resort. Whats more, its seriously stylish and highly popular with locals and tourists alike. Certainly not bargain basement when it comes to prices, the atmosphere and the menu here are likely to please even the fussiest restaurant-goer. Set on the harbour, this is a two-storey affair with a great fish, seafood and paella menu on offer. This is a true not to be missed option.

Amapola

The resorts own flagship restaurant, again this is one for a special occasion. An elegant space, with all the pomp and circumstance you would expect for a 5-star hotels restaurant, you can either choose a golf course view to enjoy your Mediterranean cuisine or if there are a few of you, you can opt for a private dining room.

Ampersand

The Ampersand Restaurant is the new kid on the La Manga block and it sure is making its presence felt. With a stylish restaurant, a laid-back tapas bar and a gin club, this place oozes class and charm. Great food rubs shoulders with a stunning wine list, so you are not likely to walk away from this one disappointed.

Quick and tasty

Quick and tasty at La Manga does not mean a curled up sandwich and a warm beer. No, far from it, quick and tasty in this neck of the woods means great ingredients, put together lovingly and served up just when you want them. Heres what we wouldd recommend on the ?Quick and tasty? front:

Via Romana

This little restaurant is tucked away in a corner of Los Belones and truly is a jewel in the local crown. Unlikely to find it by accident, its well worth sniffing out and making the journey for. Quite unassuming from the outside, you will be left in no doubt about how popular it is once you step inside. Here, top notch Italian food gives rise to rave reviews, which means its pretty much jam-packed day-in and day-out. This ones a must.

La Canela

Literally on the outskirts of the resort, this restaurant focuses on local Spanish dishes as well as international fayre. Their focus is choosing the finest ingredients and combining them in the simplest way to make the tastiest food. A simple formula maybe, but it works. This is also a good place to head if you have a veggie in your party.

La Bodega

This onsite tapas bar is located right next to the tennis centre so is perfectly placed for when you come off court of an evening or for a late lunch. Serving up imaginative but simple tapas from an extensive menu, they also boast a great wine list. Again, not complicated, but seriously good.

Something a bit different

In the UK we are spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants these days, but finding a good Indian or a good Chinese when you are on holiday often poses a challenge. Not on La Manga strip! Whats more theres a fish and chip option with a difference to boot!

Dharma

Sometimes when you go on holiday, you just yearn for a curry and its not always plain sailing finding one. At La Manga, thats not the case. Dharma is again a stylish venue that offers a top-notch curry. So if you need your curry fix, you need look no further.

Mr Chans

Located in Las Lomas village, just a short stroll from the spa, Mr Chans is a Chinese restaurant that serves up superb Sichuan and Peking dishes both on site and as take-aways, so even if you fancy something different, without sitting in, thats possible.

Campo Verde

If you fancy fish and chips with a difference, this is undoubtedly the place to head. Serving up the freshest fish and seafood imaginable in the simplest way, accompanied with chips to die for you will also be pleasantly surprised when it comes time to pay, because Campo Verde is also great value for money.
